Tribunj is a small fishing village, but the food here is excellent. This isn’t a list copied from the internet. These are the places where we eat ourselves, and we know what to order at each one. Most are a short walk from Summer House Le Vito, so after a day at the beach you don’t need to worry about the car or parking.
Trattoria Nonna: Our FavouriteIf you ask us where we eat when we’re in Tribunj, the answer is Nonna. For us it’s one of the best restaurants in the village, if not the very best. You’ll find it at Badnje 13, on the harbour promenade of Tribunj’s little islet.What to order: spaghetti, old-school pizza, a great steak and beef tenderloin, and calamari. Summer evenings are best, on the terrace just as the lights come on along the waterfront.
Konoba Pijero: The Best Seafood PlatterWhen we want fish for the whole group, we go to Pijero. The konoba is at Varoš 11, in the stone alleys of the old town, with tables outside.What to order: the seafood platter. In our opinion it’s the best in Tribunj, and perfect for a larger group.
Konoba Markiolac: Neapolitan Pizza and Grilled FishMarkiolac is on Trg Pijaca 10 and is known as a pizzeria alla napoletana, so it’s the place to go for real Neapolitan pizza. Don’t skip it if you’re in the mood for fish, though. The grilled fish here is excellent, especially the sea bream and sea bass. Book ahead in summer.
Restaurant Plavi Val, Sovlje: Fish and Meat by the SeaJust a few minutes from the house, in Sovlje bay, you’ll find Plavi Val. The fish and the meat are equally good here, so it’s a safe choice when your group can’t agree on what to eat. It’s a perfect end to a day at Sovlje beach, which you can also reach along the coastal path.
Konoba Bepo: Authentic Dalmatian AtmosphereBepo is on Ribarska Ulica 11 and serves fish, grilled dishes and Croatian and Mediterranean food, with vegetarian and gluten-free options. The rustic interior gives it a true konoba feel. It also does takeaway, which you can enjoy on our covered terrace.
When You’d Rather Stay In…Summer House Le Vito has an outdoor kitchen and a private courtyard. Pick up fresh fish at the harbour and have dinner at home, with a barbecue and a glass of local wine.
